Startup India (DPIIT) Recognition with SNB Consultancy
DPIIT recognition under the Startup India initiative is what turns a newly incorporated company into a recognised startup — and it gates a set of benefits worth pursuing: a three-year income-tax holiday, angel-tax relief, IPR fee rebates and easier public procurement. SNB Consultancy handles the recognition application and the follow-on claims it unlocks.
Recognition is only the first step. The benefits that matter — especially the 80-IAC tax exemption — need separate applications, and that is where most founders stop short.
Our Startup India Services Include:
- Eligibility assessment against the DPIIT criteria — entity type, age, turnover and innovation test
- Drafting of the innovation / scalability write-up that the application is judged on
- Filing for DPIIT recognition on the Startup India portal
- Application to the Inter-Ministerial Board for the 80-IAC income-tax exemption
- Application for angel-tax exemption under Section 56(2)(viib)
- Advisory on self-certification, IPR rebates, and public procurement benefits
What is DPIIT Recognition?
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) grants Startup Recognition under the Startup India initiative launched on 16 January 2016. A recognised startup receives a certificate and a unique recognition number, which is the reference for every benefit that follows.

| Age | Up to 10 years from the date of incorporation |
| Turnover | Has not exceeded ₹100 crore in any financial year since incorporation |
| Originality | Not formed by splitting up or reconstructing an existing business |
| Innovation | Working towards innovation, development or improvement of products, processes or services, or a scalable model with high potential for employment or wealth creation |

The Recognition Process
- Incorporate the entity as a company, LLP or registered partnership.
